American Airlines extends Starlink Wi-Fi rollout to entire mainline fleet
AAL•American Airlines plans to install SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet service on its entire mainline fleet of more than 1,000 aircraft starting next year, expanding the rollout to more than 530 Boeing aircraft in addition to over 500 Airbus aircraft.
1. Fleetwide rollout
American Airlines said it plans to install Starlink on its entire mainline fleet of more than 1,030 aircraft starting next year. The service will use SpaceX’s Performance Aero Terminal, which the airline said can deliver speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second; the financial terms were not disclosed.
