American Resources Expands Lab with XRD, ICP-MS, ICP-OES and Four Key Hires

ARECAREC

American Resources' ReElement has commissioned five new analytical instruments, including XRD, ICP-MS and ICP-OES, enhancing its ability to certify rare earths at 99.5-99.999% purity for gadolinium, terbium and others. The company also hired a Ph.D. chemical engineer, analytical chemist, quality control manager and R&D engineer to scale its refining platform.

1. Expansion of Laboratory Capabilities

ReElement Technologies has commissioned an X-Ray Diffractometer, Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry and Optical Emission Spectroscopy systems, plus a laser diffraction particle size analyzer. These instruments improve rapid feedstock qualification, ultra-sensitive trace analysis and high-throughput element quantification, reinforcing its patented chromatographic refining platform.

2. Commercial-Scale Refining Programs

The upgraded lab supports commercial refining of gadolinium, gallium, germanium, terbium and yttrium at purities ranging from 99.5% to 99.999%. Enhanced analytical and separation capabilities enable faster qualification and scaling of high-purity critical mineral products for defense, energy and manufacturing customers.

3. Strategic Technical Talent Additions

To drive scale-up and quality control, ReElement added a Ph.D. chemical engineer for pilot-scale process development, an analytical chemist for feedstock and elemental analysis, a quality control manager for finished-goods validation, and an R&D engineer to commercialize proven material flowsheets.
