American Resources expands Phase 1 refining to 16,000MT capacity in Indiana
American Resources’ subsidiary ReElement Technologies has expanded its Phase 1 Marion campus development to four production lines with over 16,000 metric tons of annual separated and purified oxide capacity. The project remains on schedule, tracking under budget, with initial production targeted for Q3 2026 and full commissioning by year-end.
1. Expansion of Phase 1 Capacity
ReElement Technologies has expanded its Marion, Indiana, Phase 1 development to include four production lines capable of processing both recycled and primary rare earth feedstocks, increasing annual separated and purified oxide capacity to over 16,000 metric tons.
2. On-Schedule, Under-Budget Execution
The buildout is progressing on schedule for initial production in Q3 2026 and full commissioning through the remainder of the year, with costs tracking substantially under original budget projections.
3. Flexible, Efficient Refining Platform
The company’s refining-first platform offers real-time adaptability to varying feedstocks, advanced process controls that reduce chemical usage and energy consumption, and an optimized cost structure versus traditional solvent-based methods.
4. Strengthening Domestic Supply Chain
By establishing modular, environmentally responsible refining infrastructure domestically, the project addresses the midstream refining gap and enhances U.S. supply chain security for critical minerals and rare earth elements.
