This effort supports the company’s $46–48 billion, ten-year capital investment program aimed at upgrading aging pipelines, improving water quality and enhancing system resiliency.
2. Kentucky Water Main Replacement
Kentucky American Water commenced a $630,000 infrastructure upgrade on Leawood Drive in Lexington, replacing approximately half a mile of 1960s-era 6-inch main with a new 8-inch ductile iron pipeline. The project, now underway with local contractor Lagco, Inc., is designed to improve flow, reduce interruptions and maintain dependable fire protection for local customers.
