AmpliTech’s 64T64R Radio in VIAVI VALOR Lab for 120 AI-RAN Alliance Members
AMPG•AmpliTech’s 64T64R Massive MIMO radio was the only unit demonstrated live in VIAVI VALOR Lab tours for 120 AI-RAN Alliance members, proving its performance in a multi-vendor Open RAN test environment. VALOR’s AI-driven lab, with 600+ automated tests, a 25×35-ft RF chamber and NTIA funding, has completed 2,100+ runs.
1. Demonstration at VIAVI VALOR Lab
AmpliTech’s O-RAN CAT B 64T64R Massive MIMO radio unit was the only configuration featured in live demonstrations at VIAVI Solutions’ VALOR Lab for around 120 AI-RAN Alliance members, showcasing its performance in a multi-vendor Open RAN reference environment.
2. VALOR Lab Capabilities and Metrics
The AI-enabled VALOR facility in Chandler, Arizona, offers over 600 automated test cases, a 25-by-35-foot RF anechoic chamber, GPU infrastructure from a leading AI player, and is partly funded by the NTIA’s Public Wireless Supply Chain Innovation Fund. Since 2024, it has completed more than 2,100 test runs across 377 cases with an average occupancy rate of 75%.
3. Independent Validation Across Venues
AmpliTech’s 64T64R radio has also been the only unit of its configuration to participate in the Open6G OTIC at Northeastern University and the O-RAN ALLIANCE Global PlugFest Spring 2026, reflecting expanding industry recognition and independent validation of its technology.
4. Strategic Implications
Founder and CEO Fawad Maqbool emphasized that independent, multi-vendor evaluations such as those conducted at VALOR Lab strengthen AmpliTech’s technology leadership and credibility, supporting market confidence and potential large-scale deployment decisions.
