ams OSRAM joins OCP optics standards workstream led by Credo
CRDO•ams OSRAM joined the Open Compute Project workstream led by Credo to develop short-reach micro-emitter optics standards for AI data centers. The specification is targeted for OCP approval in 2027.
1. Standards effort
The workstream aims to develop interoperable, wide-parallel optical links for scale-up and scale-out GPU networks, targeting copper-like latency and cost with longer reach. The proposed specification will cover signaling, power efficiency, form factors, modules and connector interfaces.
2. ams OSRAM contribution
ams OSRAM will contribute expertise in microLED, microVCSEL and micro-photodiode arrays, CMOS integration and advanced packaging for data center optical connectivity.
