Anfield Energy Receives First Custom Haul Truck, Secures Loader Deal for Velvet-Wood, JD-8 and Slick Rock
AEC•Anfield Energy received the first custom-built underground haul truck from Young’s Machine Company, marking a key equipment procurement milestone for its Velvet-Wood uranium-vanadium mine in Utah. The company also secured an agreement for underground loaders to support initial production at Velvet-Wood, JD-8 and Slick Rock under its hub-and-spoke model.
1. Equipment Procurement Milestone
Anfield Energy has taken delivery of the first custom-built underground haul truck from Young’s Machine Company, following its 2025 equipment order. Company representatives visited Young’s Monticello, Utah facility to receive the unit, which is slated to begin operating at the Velvet-Wood uranium-vanadium mine.
2. Expansion of Hub-and-Spoke Model
The haul truck will support Velvet-Wood operations and be relocated to Anfield’s Colorado mines once larger units arrive later this year. In addition, Anfield secured a commitment from Young’s to supply underground loaders to facilitate initial development and production at Velvet-Wood, JD-8 and Slick Rock projects.
3. Strengthening U.S. Supply Chain
This milestone underscores Anfield’s partnership with a local Utah manufacturer and its strategy to build a robust American supply chain for domestic uranium production. The collaboration aligns with the company’s plan to ramp up output across its hub-and-spoke network and advance toward full-scale production.
