Anterix has sold 900 MHz spectrum to Texas-New Mexico Power, enabling a mission-critical private wireless network for over 280,000 customers under TNMP’s 2025-2027 System Resiliency Plan. The deployment promises faster outage response, real-time infrastructure monitoring and scalable integration of advanced energy technologies across TNMP’s territory.

1. Spectrum Sale to TNMP

Anterix and Texas-New Mexico Power finalized a 900 MHz spectrum sale agreement that grants TNMP exclusive rights to deploy a private wireless broadband network across its service area. TNMP, a TXNM Energy subsidiary serving over 280,000 homes and businesses, will leverage this licensed spectrum to modernize its grid communications.

2. Operational Enhancements for TNMP

Under its 2025-2027 System Resiliency Plan, TNMP will use the network to accelerate outage response times, implement real-time monitoring of critical infrastructure and support seamless integration of advanced energy technologies. The platform’s proven ecosystem reduces deployment risks and offers a cost-efficient foundation for scalable utility use cases.

3. Growing Adoption Across Utilities

TNMP joins a cohort of Texas utilities—including LCRA, Oncor, Xcel Energy and CPS Energy—that have adopted Anterix’s 900 MHz private network. Nationwide, nine utilities now operate on this platform across 15 states, cementing its status as the only utility-focused broadband solution with a clear roadmap to 5G.

4. Strategic Value for Anterix

The agreement reinforces market demand for Anterix’s mission-critical private wireless spectrum, showcasing a compelling cost-to-value proposition for utilities. By expanding its footprint with TNMP, Anterix strengthens its position as the leading provider of secure, utility-controlled communications and accelerates its path to broader grid modernization.
