Anthropic's Clark says AI's impact accelerating quickly and could vastly boost US GDP
SPY•Anthropic co-founder Jack Clark said AI could bring faster change across fields. One of the company's internal economic models forecasts US economic output could reach $44 trillion by 2030, compared with just over $30 trillion currently.
1. AI and economic growth
Jack Clark, co-founder of Anthropic, said rapidly improving AI capabilities will bring far faster change across fields. Speaking at the IMF and World Bank annual meetings in Bangkok, he said international cooperation was needed to establish “unusual and serious rules” for the technology.
2. Internal model forecast
Clark said an Anthropic internal economic model forecasts AI could expand US economic output to $44 trillion by 2030, from just over $30 trillion currently. He called the figure “very outlandish,” but said it was implicated by the technology continuing to improve and would require new industries and inventions.
