AON•Aon forecasts global employer medical plan costs will rise 9% on average in 2027, with regional increases ranging from 7.5% in Europe to 12.2% in the Middle East and Africa.

Aon forecast medical plan costs to rise 9.2% in North America, 9.7% in Asia-Pacific, 7.5% in Europe, 10.4% in Latin America and the Caribbean, and 12.2% in the Middle East and Africa. Cardiovascular conditions, cancer and hypertension were flagged as major claims drivers, while wider use of GLP-1 drugs for diabetes and obesity is expected to lift pharmaceutical spending.
