Apache says possible strike would not impact other producers' UK Forties pipeline flows
APA•Apache said a possible strike by offshore workers this month would not prevent other companies from using the Forties Pipeline System. The company said it plans to keep experienced staff at the Forties Charlie hub and support flows even if output from its five platforms is suspended.
1. Pipeline flows planned to continue
Apache said its contingency plans should allow other producers to continue operating through the Forties Pipeline System if Unite’s planned strike takes place. Apache operates the Forties oilfield, while INEOS owns and operates the pipeline system.
2. Strike plans and response
Unite said more than 160 offshore Apache workers planned to strike this month. Apache said it plans to keep experienced staff on the Forties Charlie hub and operate the plant even if output from all five Apache-operated Forties platforms is suspended; the company said it prefers to resolve the matter through dialogue.
