Apollo launches £5.7 billion bid for easyJet, topping rival offer

- State Bank of India said it will sell a 1.42% stake in SBI Funds Management to 30 investors for 16.55 billion rupees ($173.5 million) in a pre-IPO placement.
- Aviva agreed to buy the remaining 26% stake in Aviva Life Insurance Company India from Dabur Invest Corp.
- Marex Group will acquire Singapore-based clearing business Bright Point International to expand in Asia-Pacific and gain access to Chinese markets.
Apollo makes a higher bid for easyJet
U.S. investment firm Apollo Global Management launched a £5.7 billion ($7.7 billion) bid for easyJet, overtaking a rival offer from Castlelake and potentially setting up a takeover battle for one of Europe’s largest airlines.
