Apple replaces EU Core Technology Fee with 5% commission on off-App Store digital transactions

Apple set new EU app business terms, replacing the per-install Core Technology Fee with a 5% Core Technology Commission.

Commission for App Store apps using Apple In-App Purchase is set at 26%; reduced to 15% for most developers, including small-business participants.

Alternative in-app payments in the App Store are set at 20%; link-out purchases are set at 15%, with reduced 10% rates for eligible programs.

The changes remove the initial acquisition fee and store services fee, moving EU-distributing developers onto one unified framework.

Developers can sign now; new terms take effect Oct. 1, following collaboration with the European Commission.
