Applied Materials Unveils US$500M Singapore Campus Doubling Cleanroom Capacity
AMAT•Applied Materials launched a US$500 million Tampines Campus in Singapore, doubling its advanced cleanroom capacity and adding about 1,000 jobs to support AI-driven chip production. The BCA Green Mark Platinum facility uses solar panels, closed-loop water systems and AI-enabled automation for sustainable, high-volume semiconductor equipment manufacturing.
1. Expansion of Tampines Campus
Applied Materials invested US$500 million to open the Tampines Campus in Singapore, more than doubling its advanced cleanroom capacity at volume production. This expansion is part of the Singapore 2030 plan and is expected to create approximately 1,000 local jobs over the next few years to meet rising AI chip demand.
2. Sustainable, Intelligent Manufacturing
The campus achieved BCA Green Mark Platinum certification, featuring onsite solar panels, LED lighting, low-carbon concrete and a closed-loop water reclamation system for zero water waste. It deploys Autonomous Mobile Robots, AI-assisted quality inspection and AR/VR tools to streamline assembly, testing and training.
3. Global Footprint and Strategic Impact
This new facility strengthens Applied Materials’ global manufacturing network alongside operations in the U.S., Europe, Israel and Taiwan. It supports chipmakers scaling AI infrastructure and complements the upcoming US$5 billion EPIC Center in Silicon Valley to accelerate technology commercialization.
