Janatpour as Senior Vice President & Chief Scientific Officer to lead research and preclinical development across its expanding multispecific oncology pipeline and radiopharmaceutical collaboration with Niowave. She brings over 25 years of oncology R&D leadership in target discovery, translational science and pipeline strategy.
1. Leadership Appointment
On May 28, 2026, Aptevo Therapeutics named Dr. Mary J. Janatpour as Senior Vice President & Chief Scientific Officer. In this role, she will oversee research and preclinical development, advancing the clinical candidate mipletamig and next-generation multispecific therapeutics.
2. Radiopharmaceutical Collaboration
Dr. Janatpour will guide Aptevo’s strategic partnership with Niowave to develop radiopharmaceutical therapies leveraging the ADAPTIR and ADAPTIR-FLEX platforms. The collaboration aims to extend the company’s pipeline beyond immuno-oncology biologics into targeted radiotherapeutics.

Dr. Janatpour brings more than 25 years of oncology research and development leadership from roles at Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research, Schering-Plough Biopharma and Chiron. Her expertise spans target discovery, translational science and pipeline strategy, having advanced multiple oncology molecules from discovery through clinical translation.
