Aqua Metals releases investor presentation outlining Headwaters ARC phased LFP battery-materials processing rollout
AQMS•Headwaters ARC phased rollout outlined
Aqua Metals outlined a staged buildout for its Headwaters ARC critical-minerals processing platform, starting with LFP battery scrap preprocessing.
- Phase 1 targets 20,000 tonnes per year of preprocessing capacity across two lines, producing copper, aluminum, and high-grade black mass for early revenue.
- Phase 2 would add AquaRefining to convert LFP black mass into higher-value products, including battery-grade lithium carbonate, iron phosphate, and graphite.
- AquaRefining is positioned as a lower-cost hydromet design, aiming to cut one-time-use chemicals, reduce sulfate waste, and recover copper as metal.
- Near-term priorities include finalizing equipment scope, advancing vendor-supported financing, incentives, real-estate funding structures, and permitting toward a Phase 1 execution decision.
