AquaBounty expands Pioneer Ohio strategic review to target power and energy infrastructure development opportunities

The site is positioned around an electrical substation with about 50 megawatts of available capacity, along with a 5.25 million gpd groundwater withdrawal permit.

AquaBounty said it may also consider direct participation in infrastructure or energy projects where it could boost long-term shareholder value.

AquaBounty expanded its strategic review for its Pioneer, Ohio property to include power infrastructure and energy development opportunities.

The company said it is targeting talks with developers, utilities, independent power producers, infrastructure investors and strategic partners.

Potential outcomes include a sale, joint development, long-term leasing or other structures tied to the site’s utility assets.
