Arbutus Biopharma buys back 46 million shares for $230 million in Dutch auction
ABUS•Arbutus Biopharma repurchased 46 million common shares for cancellation at $5 each, totaling $230 million, or about 23% of shares outstanding as of Sept. 29, 2026. The offer was oversubscribed, and settlement is expected around Oct. 5.
1. Tender offer completed
Arbutus completed a modified Dutch auction tender offer, repurchasing 46 million common shares for cancellation at $5 per share. Eligible tenders at or below $5 were prorated to about 55.6%, excluding odd lots. Roivant Sciences tendered in the proportionate pool and will maintain about 19.5% ownership; shares not purchased will be returned.
