AstraZeneca partners with Oracle for AI-driven clinical trials
AZN•AstraZeneca and Oracle will use AI and real-world data to identify eligible clinical-trial patients and monitor safety signals. Their first project will support hypertension research in Abu Dhabi with UAE-based healthcare firm M42.
1. Trial research collaboration
AstraZeneca said it is working with Oracle to combine drug-development expertise, AI and healthcare data for patient matching and research. Initial work will focus on cancer, cardiovascular, respiratory, immunology and rare diseases, and could also support earlier diagnosis of serious diseases.
2. First project in Abu Dhabi
The first project will support hypertension research in Abu Dhabi in partnership with M42. Patient recruitment is a major challenge in clinical research, as delayed enrolment can extend trial timelines and increase development costs. AstraZeneca is targeting more than $80 billion in annual revenue by 2030 as it works to expand its medicine portfolio.
