Australia's CSL taps Amazon's cloud unit to boost research pipeline
CSL•CSL said it is collaborating with Amazon Web Services to use AI and cloud technology across its research and clinical development pipeline. The tools are intended to help identify potential drug targets earlier and reduce manual work in clinical processes.
1. AI across development
CSL said the partnership will let scientists analyze complex scientific data and identify potential drug targets earlier in discovery, helping accelerate research and shorten development timelines. The company will also use AWS cloud and AI tools to reduce manual workloads in protocol drafting, data management and submissions.
2. Connecting research work
CSL aims to link laboratory and computational work more closely so experimental findings can inform research models and decisions faster. The partnership follows drug-pricing agreements announced in early September that included CSL; the company posted better-than-expected annual underlying earnings in mid-August and forecast growth in 2027, supported by its core plasma division.
