AvalonBay shareholders voted on merger proposals at special meeting

If completed, each AvalonBay common share will convert into the right to receive 2.793 Equity Residential common shares.

Upon closing, the combined company is expected to be renamed Vivmark Residential, with shares expected to trade as VMRK on Aug. 18, 2026.

AvalonBay held a special meeting on August 12, 2026 to vote on proposals tied to its pending merger of equals with Equity Residential.

Stockholders adopted the proposals required to complete the merger.

The approvals do not complete the transaction; the merger is expected to close on August 17, 2026, subject to customary conditions.
