AWS and Nokia Introduce AI-Powered 5G-Advanced Network Slicing, Du and Orange Pilots
Amazon Web Services and Nokia unveiled an AI-powered 5G-Advanced network slicing platform on February 24, enabling dynamic adjustment of network resources in real time. Du and Orange are testing the agentic AI-driven solution using traffic and event data to deliver intent-based premium services and monetize 5G investments.
1. Partnership Details
On February 24, Amazon Web Services partnered with Nokia to launch an AI-powered 5G-Advanced network slicing solution. The collaboration combines Nokia’s network slicing technology with AWS’s AI capabilities to enable telecommunications providers to allocate resources on demand.
2. AI-Powered Technology
The platform leverages agentic AI and real-world inputs—such as traffic patterns and event data—to automatically adjust network slices under fluctuating conditions. This intent-based approach aims to boost service quality and operational efficiency during traffic surges or emergencies.
3. Pilot Deployments
Du and Orange are the initial operators testing the new solution in live networks. These pilots will assess the platform’s ability to deliver differentiated enterprise and consumer services and evaluate monetization opportunities for 5G investments.
