Baird Medical Records First Ablations in Vietnam on June 18 and Argentina on June 15
BDMD•Baird Medical completed its first microwave ablation procedure in Vietnam on June 18 to treat a benign thyroid nodule and its first liver ablation in Argentina on June 15. These landmark cases expand the company’s FDA 510(k)-cleared minimally invasive technology into two new markets.
1. Milestone Procedures
On June 18, Baird Medical’s microwave ablation platform was used for the first time at Lac Viet Friendship Hospital in Hanoi to treat a benign thyroid nodule, performed by Dr. Dinh Xuan Ha. Three days earlier, on June 15, Dr. Eduardo Houghton at Hospital General de Agudos Bernardino Rivadavia in Buenos Aires completed the company’s inaugural liver ablation in Argentina, both representing the first clinical use of its technology in these countries.
2. Global Expansion Strategy
By entering Vietnam and Argentina, Baird Medical now has clinical procedures underway in over 20 countries, reinforcing its position as the leading thyroid MWA provider in China. The company’s solutions are already deployed at more than 30 prominent U.S. institutions, including Mayo Clinic and Columbia University Medical Center. These landmark cases underscore Baird Medical’s strategy to broaden its commercial footprint in emerging healthcare markets and drive adoption through local clinical partnerships.
