Baker Hughes Secures Subsea Tree Deal for Angola’s Greater PAJ with 10,000 psi Systems
BKR•Baker Hughes won a contract from Azule Energy to supply deepwater horizontal tree systems and control modules for the Greater PAJ development in Angola. The systems, rated for 10,000 psi and depths up to 10,000 feet, will begin delivery in 2027 using local supply chains to optimise operations.
1. Contract Award and Scope
Baker Hughes secured a multi-component award from Azule Energy to provide subsea production systems for the Greater PAJ development. The agreement covers deepwater horizontal tree systems, subsea control modules, intervention workover control systems, and associated connection, distribution and topside equipment.
2. System Specifications
The deepwater horizontal tree systems are engineered for ultra-deepwater applications with an operating threshold of up to 10,000 psi and depths reaching 10,000 feet. Their modular, configurable design enables fit-for-purpose configurations and short-cycle deliveries to accelerate first production and support long-term field performance.
3. Angola Operations and Timeline
Equipment will be delivered starting in 2027, with integrated tooling and services managed from local facilities in Angola. Leveraging regional supply chains is expected to increase efficiencies and reinforce Baker Hughes’ offshore operations in Sub-Saharan Africa.
