Bank of America consumer retail M&A banker Peacock to join JPMorgan, sources say
JPM•JPMorgan Chase is hiring Richard Peacock from Bank of America as global head of consumer and retail M&A early next year. He will be based in New York.
1. Peacock’s new role
JPMorgan Chase is hiring Richard Peacock, a senior consumer and retail M&A banker at Bank of America, to lead the group globally. Peacock, who joined Bank of America more than a decade ago, will start early next year and be based in New York.
2. Recent banking hires
Peacock is the latest managing director to leave Bank of America as M&A activity prompts personnel moves on Wall Street. Earlier this year, he was named co-head of Bank of America’s newly created private capital M&A group. JPMorgan also hired former Sycamore Partners executive Rob Sweeney as global chair of investment banking earlier this month, and Ian Carnegie-Brown from UBS this year.
3. Team and deal activity
JPMorgan’s consumer and retail investment banking team ranked No. 1 in Dealogic’s industry rankings in the first six months of 2026 and for all of 2025. Bank of America lost another senior consumer and retail dealmaker over the summer when Andrew Conway left to become Citigroup’s global chair of consumer and retail investment banking. Bank of America said it has hired more than 40 managing directors in its corporate and investment bank this year.
