Barclays offers early settlement deals to some UK motorists
BCS•Barclays said its finance arm will make early settlement offers to some British customers who complained about motor finance commissions, allowing them to receive redress sooner. The offers concern complaints acknowledged on or before October 1, 2026, after the UK regulator’s £9.1 billion compensation scheme was partially suspended pending legal challenges.
1. Early redress offers
Barclays Partner Finance will offer early settlements to some customers who previously complained about commissions on motor finance agreements and whose complaints were acknowledged on or before October 1, 2026. The bank said the offers give them the option of receiving redress sooner.

Barclays is the first big UK lender to announce redress offers after the Financial Conduct Authority’s £9.1 billion compensation scheme was partially suspended pending legal challenges that could cause long delays.
