Barrick Sets End-2026 IPO for North American Assets Producing 2.0Moz Gold
Barrick appointed a dedicated North American gold management team led by COO Tim Cribb and CFO Wessel Hamman for Nevada Gold Mines, Pueblo Viejo and Fourmile operations. The assets produced 2.0Moz of gold in 2025 and will launch North American Barrick IPO by end-2026 with Barrick retaining a controlling stake.
1. Executive Appointments
Barrick has formed an executive team exclusively for North American Barrick, comprising Tim Cribb as Chief Operating Officer, Wessel Hamman as Chief Financial Officer, Joe Heckendorn as Chief Legal Officer, Megan Tibbals as Chief Technical Officer, Richard Barley as Chief HR Officer, Javier Ortuzar as Vice President of Exploration and Amanda Steensen as Vice President of Sustainability, all reporting to CEO Mark Hill.
2. Asset Portfolio
North American Barrick will encompass Barrick’s stakes and operatorship of the Nevada Gold Mines complex—Carlin, Cortez and Turquoise Ridge—as well as the Pueblo Viejo mine and the wholly owned Fourmile project, creating a tier-one portfolio in premier North American mining jurisdictions.
3. Production and Growth Profile
The combined assets delivered approximately 2.0Moz of attributable gold in 2025, and Fourmile is expected to drive significant high-grade, low-cost growth once contributed to the NGM joint venture under its partner agreement.
4. IPO Plan
Barrick targets completion of a minority stake IPO for North American Barrick by the end of 2026, with a primary listing in New York and secondary listing in Toronto, while maintaining a significant controlling interest and collaborating with Newmont to maximize joint venture value.
