BBVA cuts share capital by EUR 31.68 million via cancellation of 64,643,559 shares
BBVA•BBVA reduced its share capital by EUR 31,675,343.91 by cancelling 64,643,559 treasury shares with a par value of EUR 0.49 each. Its share capital is now EUR 2,923,081,772.45, represented by 5,965,473,005 shares.
1. Capital reduction
BBVA reduced its share capital by EUR 31,675,343.91 through the cancellation of 64,643,559 treasury shares, each with a EUR 0.49 par value. The reduction was charged to unrestricted reserves, and a redeemed capital reserve equal to the cancelled shares’ par value was created.
2. Shares and buyback
After the reduction, BBVA’s share capital stands at EUR 2,923,081,772.45, represented by 5,965,473,005 shares. The cancelled shares came from a buyback program disclosed on March 17, 2023; BBVA disclosed completion of the repurchase on April 21, 2023.
