BCAT and ECAT Adopt 20% Annualized Payouts; BlackRock CEFs Shift to Quarterly Declarations
Certain BlackRock closed-end funds moved distributions to a quarterly declaration schedule, setting ex- and record dates on the 15th of April, May and June with payables on month-end business days. BlackRock Capital Allocation and ESG Capital Allocation Trusts set 20% annualized distributions using 12-month average NAVs of $15.4734 and $16.3985.
1. Quarterly Declaration Schedule
Certain BlackRock closed-end funds shifted from monthly to quarterly distribution declarations to enhance visibility. Ex- and record dates are now set on April 15, May 15 and June 15, with payable dates falling on the final business day of each respective month.
2. Ex-Record and Payable Dates
Municipal, taxable, equity and multi-asset funds will adhere to the new schedule: ex- and record dates on the 15th of April, May and June, and payable dates on April 30, May 29 and June 30, 2026.
3. Managed Distribution Plan for BCAT and ECAT
BlackRock Capital Allocation Trust (BCAT) and ESG Capital Allocation Trust (ECAT) adopted a managed distribution plan targeting a 20% annualized payout. Payouts for April through June 2026 were calculated using each fund’s 12-month average NAV—$15.4734 for BCAT and $16.3985 for ECAT.
