Becton, Dickinson and Company has launched the BD Vacutainer Urine Complete Cup Kit, a three-tube closed-system designed to collect culture, sensitivity and urinalysis samples from a single specimen. The integrated transfer mechanism eliminates manual tube transfers, reduces contamination risk, mitigates repeat collections and supports Hemogard and conventional stoppered configurations.

Following the launch, BDX shares fell 0.6% and have declined 5.3% over the past six months versus a 22.3% industry gain. The kit addresses an $11 billion biological sample collection market projected to grow at an 8.9% CAGR through 2035, and could drive incremental lab workflow revenues.

This launch reinforces BD’s strategic focus on preanalytical technologies, strengthening its position in the urinalysis market and deepening relationships with hospitals and clinical laboratories. Over time, the innovation could support market share gains within the urine collection portfolio and bolster BDX’s lab workflow offerings.
