Nvidia Targets $200 Billion Agentic AI Market with Vera CPU Launch
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang unveiled the Vera CPU as the world’s first processor purpose-built for agentic AI, positioning it as a new $200 billion total addressable market. The announcement followed record Q1 revenue of $81.6 billion and a $91 billion forecast for the next quarter.
1. Record Quarterly Revenue and Forecast
In Q1 Nvidia reported a record $81.6 billion in revenue and issued guidance for $91 billion in the next quarter, marking its strongest quarter yet and underscoring continued demand for its AI offerings.
2. Vera CPU Introduction
Introduced in March, the Vera CPU is available standalone or bundled with the Rubin GPU. It’s optimized for token processing speed to support autonomous AI agents rather than multi-core app execution.
3. New $200 Billion Total Addressable Market
Jensen Huang stated that Vera unlocks a previously untapped $200 billion market in agentic and robotic AI, positioning Nvidia as a central supplier as hyperscalers and system makers deploy the new CPU.
4. Competitive Dynamics
While Nvidia dominates GPUs, its move into CPUs pits Vera against offerings from Intel, AMD and cloud providers like AWS, which have promoted their own AI chip developments.
