Beam Global Relocates to Yuma Facility, Secures $2.7M Rent Savings Over Five-Year Lease
BEEM•Beam Global will relocate its California manufacturing operations into two adjacent 55,000 sq ft buildings in Yuma, Arizona, under leases through July 31, 2031, with an option to purchase at a fixed price. The move is projected to cut rent costs by $400,000 in 2026 and $2.7 million over five years while lowering labor, utilities and shipping expenses to boost gross margins.
1. Relocation Plan
Beam Global will move its California manufacturing and production operations into two adjacent industrial buildings totaling approximately 55,000 square feet in Yuma, Arizona. The company will occupy the first facility on July 15, 2026, and the second on January 1, 2027, under leases running through July 31, 2031, with a fixed-price purchase option.
2. Financial Benefits
The relocation is expected to generate rent savings of about $400,000 in 2026 and $2.7 million over the five-year lease term compared to current costs in San Diego. Additional savings will arise from lower labor, benefits, insurance, utilities and regulatory expenses in Arizona, improving gross margins and accelerating the path to cash flow positive operations.
3. Operational Improvements
By consolidating production in Yuma’s manufacturing zone with road and rail access, Beam Global anticipates reduced shipping costs and the ability to insource several outsourced processes previously constrained by California’s permitting environment. This vertical integration is projected to lower production complexity, costs and operational risk.
4. Workforce and Local Incentives
Yuma’s skilled labor pool, proximity to Yuma Marine Corps Air Station and lower state income taxes will benefit manufacturing employees and support anticipated sales growth. The company may also leverage municipal and state incentive programs to enhance the economic advantages of its new campus.
