Shares of medical equipment maker Becton Dickinson rose 2.5% to $174.87 premarket after the company reported quarterly results that topped Wall Street expectations.
Full-year profit outlook improves
BDX expects annual per-share profit of $12.62 to $12.72, compared with its prior expectation of $12.52 to $12.72.
Up to the last close, the stock was up 11.9% year to date.
Quarterly profit and revenue beat estimates
BDX reported third-quarter adjusted profit of $3.23 per share versus analysts' average estimate of $3.14, according to LSEG data.
The company's third-quarter revenue of $4.98 billion also beat analysts' average expectation of $4.89 billion, helped by demand for its drug-delivery devices and surgical equipment.
