Benchmark Electronics taps automation veteran Josh Hollin as CTO to lead AI initiatives

Benchmark Electronics has appointed Josh Hollin as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, succeeding Jan Janick upon his retirement on January 16, 2026. Hollin’s 25+ years of engineering leadership at GoPro, AMP Robotics and Flex will drive AI, automation and advanced manufacturing strategies to enhance product development.

Benchmark Electronics, Inc. has appointed Josh Hollin as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, succeeding Jan Janick who will retire after a 16-year tenure that saw the company expand its engineering services and innovation culture. Hollin joins Benchmark with more than 25 years of leadership experience in automation, AI and advanced manufacturing technologies. He most recently served as Vice President of Engineering & Technical Program Management at GoPro, where he scaled global hardware and software engineering teams and introduced lifecycle practices that reduced development cycles by up to 30%. Prior to GoPro, Hollin held senior roles at AMP Robotics—driving autonomous sorting systems that increased throughput by 40%—and at Flex, where he led global design engineering for semiconductor capital equipment. Hollin holds an MBA from the University of Kansas, a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University and is a Six Sigma Black Belt. Benchmark’s President, David Moezidis, highlighted Hollin’s track record of integrating AI and robotics to deliver measurable customer impact, noting that under his leadership the company expects to accelerate its roadmap for smart manufacturing and strengthen its competitive position in aerospace, medical and defense markets.
