Bessent says G20 ministers want higher economic growth
SPY•Bessent says growth and imbalances were key G20 topics
ASHEVILLE, North Carolina, Sept. 1 (Reuters) - U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Tuesday that achieving higher economic growth and non-market economies with "big imbalances" were among the main topics discussed at the G20 finance ministers' summit in Asheville, North Carolina, this week.
"I think the two big messages here are everyone wants to be pro-growth, will they take the measures that it needs ... and then the other thing we've been talking about too are imbalances, and we're seeing a lot of non-market economies with these big imbalances that are sucking growth from the rest of the world," Bessent told reporters at the summit.
