July 30 (Reuters) - U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Thursday that Japan may have intervened to prop up its yen currency, according to a Fox Business Network reporter, who added Bessent said the yen "seems very undervalued to me."
A Treasury spokesperson verified the contents of the X social media post on X by Fox Business Network's Edward Lawrence, who quoted Bessent as saying: "The currency is very cheap. The economy is doing well. The Prime Minister is very popular and enacting very strong policies."
