BHP agrees to divest Kambalda Nickel Concentrator to Gold Fields
BHP•BHP agreed to sell the Kambalda Nickel Concentrator, along with tenements and mineralisation rights, to Gold Fields. Completion is expected in calendar 2027, subject to conditions including regulatory approvals.
1. Planned divestment
Gold Fields will assess long-term use options for the concentrator and offer roles to staff directly supporting the asset. BHP’s Western Australia Nickel assets remain in temporary suspension after a July 2024 halt tied to global nickel oversupply.
