BHP maintained FY27 production guidance despite copper output falling 19% to 400,700 tonnes in the quarter ended September 30, 2026. Copper’s average realized price rose 53% year over year to USD 7.01 per pound.
Iron ore production increased 4% to 66,450,000 tonnes, driven by mine, rail and port performance in Western Australia. Steelmaking coal output rose 1% to 4,913,000 tonnes, and energy coal production climbed 26% to 4,449,000 tonnes. Jansen Stage 1 was 87% complete and remained on track for first potash production in mid-2027.
