Biodesix partners with Thermo Fisher on tumor-naïve MRD blood test program
BDSX•Biodesix expanded its minimal residual disease (MRD) strategy with collaborations with Bio-Rad on tumor-informed ctDNA monitoring and Thermo Fisher on a tumor-naïve assay that detects methylated ctDNA without tumor tissue.
1. Two MRD approaches
The Bio-Rad program uses Droplet Digital PCR to track patient-specific tumor changes in blood, targeting detection below 1 part per million. The Thermo Fisher program uses Genexus sequencing to detect methylated ctDNA without tumor tissue, widening eligibility for MRD monitoring. Investigators at Memorial Sloan Kettering will validate both approaches, which are designed for deployment on partner platforms already installed globally.
