Biogen's Empaveli sustains proteinuria reduction, stabilizes kidney function over 76 weeks
BIIB•Biogen said Phase 3 results showed sustained reductions in urinary protein loss and kidney function stabilization over 76 weeks in C3G and primary IC-MPGN.
1. Long-term trial results
Biogen will present the Phase 3 EMPAVELI results at ASN Kidney Week in Denver on October 22-25, 2026. The company said the findings showed a consistent long-term safety profile and supported EMPAVELI’s recently expanded U.S. indication to reduce kidney function loss.
2. Other kidney disease trials
Additional presentations will cover investigational felzartamab, which is in three Phase 3 trials targeting immune-mediated kidney diseases. Results from its TRANSCEND trial in antibody-mediated rejection among adult kidney transplant recipients are expected in the first half of 2027.
