BioHarvest Sciences appointed former Israeli Health Ministry director general Hezi Levy to its board, drawing on his COVID-19 pandemic leadership and IDF medical corps head experience. David Tsur stepped down after four years overseeing expansion, capital raises and commercialization, strengthening governance ahead of the company’s direct-to-consumer products and CDMO growth.

1. Appointment of Hezi Levy

Hezi Levy, former director-general of the Israeli Ministry of Health and brigadier general in the Israel Defense Forces Medical Corps, joined BioHarvest Sciences’ board effective immediately, bringing decades of leadership experience from the COVID-19 response and management of Barzilai Medical Center.

2. Departure of David Tsur

David Tsur stepped down from the board after more than four years of service, during which he guided the company’s operational expansion, multiple capital raises and advancement of its direct-to-consumer products and contract development and manufacturing organization platform.

3. Strategic Governance and Growth Implications

Chairman Zaki Rakib noted that Levy’s medical and administrative expertise will strengthen corporate governance as the company scales its direct-to-consumer line and expands its CDMO services, positioning BioHarvest for accelerated growth.
