Biohaven Elevates David Pirman, Names Bruce Car Innovation Officer for Bexorg Collaboration
BHVN•Biohaven promoted David Pirman, Ph.D. to Executive Vice President and Head of Discovery to lead internal research programs, and redefined Bruce Car, Ph.D.'s role from Chief Scientific Officer to part-time Chief Innovation Officer focusing on collaborations with Bexorg, Inc. Warren Volles was also designated an executive officer.
1. David Pirman Named EVP and Head of Discovery
Biohaven promoted David Pirman, Ph.D. to Executive Vice President and Head of Discovery effective July 9, 2026. In this role, he will oversee the internal drug-discovery organization and steer all research programs across the pipeline.
2. Bruce Car Becomes Chief Innovation Officer
Dr. Bruce Car retires as Chief Scientific Officer and transitions to part-time Chief Innovation Officer on July 13, 2026. He will focus on advancing external collaborations, notably leading assets under the multi-program partnership with Bexorg, Inc., while remaining an executive officer.
3. Warren Volles Designated as Executive Officer
General Counsel Warren Volles has been formally named an executive officer of Biohaven and will continue to lead the company’s legal function, ensuring compliance and governance across all operations.
