BK Technologies licensed its InteropONE interoperability technology to push-to-talk provider Tango Tango under a strategic collaboration agreement.
Tango Tango received an initial three-year license, renewable annually, to market InteropONE-branded users and on-demand “InteropONE talkgroups.”
Network access and planned integration
The deal gives BK access to Tango Tango’s network of more than 1,500 public safety agencies and over 35,000 active subscribers across 49 states.
InteropONE enables ad-hoc talk groups without pre-provisioning or gateways, supporting cross-carrier smartphone communications for first responders.
The companies plan to explore deeper integration, including potential incorporation of BK’s BKRplay PTToC tethering into Tango Tango’s app.
