Gas discovery confirmed at Sandia-1 offshore Colombia

Petrobras confirmed a new natural gas discovery at the Sandia-1 exploration well in Colombia’s deepwater GUA-OFF-0 block.

Sandia-1 sits about 42 km offshore in 1,251 meters of water, extending the Sirius and Copoazu gas play in the area.

Drilling started June 12, 2026, reached total depth on July 29, 2026; gas-bearing intervals are under evaluation via well logs and lab tests.

Petrobras operates the consortium with a 44.44% stake; partner Ecopetrol holds 55.56%.
