BMO releases transcript of Q3 2026 earnings call

BMO held its Q3 2026 earnings call on Aug. 25 with CEO Darryl White, CFO Rahul Nalgirkar, CRO Piyush Agrawal, and segment heads.

• Adjusted EPS: CAD 3.96
• Adjusted net income: CAD 2.9 billion
• ROE: 14%
• PPPT: CAD 4.5 billion
• Total PCL: CAD 722 million

The bank announced the sale of 138 U.S. branches, Transportation and Vendor Finance, and Moneris Canada; it expects the moves to add 50 bps to CET1.

BMO also announced a new normal course issuer bid for up to 25 million shares starting in September, pending regulatory approval.

CEO Darryl White called the new U.S. Section 338 tariffs “manageable,” citing 5% of exports affected. CRO Piyush Agrawal said direct exposure is below 1%.
