BrainsWay says secondary analysis finds Deep TMS cuts suicidal ideation in major depression trial
BWAY•SWIFT and standard protocols both showed improvement
BrainsWay said both the SWIFT accelerated protocol and standard once-daily treatment produced improvement, with faster relief reported under SWIFT.
The company said the findings support Deep TMS’s potential role in suicidality, although the device remains FDA-cleared only for major depressive disorder.
Secondary analysis points to reduced suicidal ideation
BrainsWay said a new peer-reviewed secondary analysis showed its Deep TMS treatment reduced suicidal ideation in patients with major depressive disorder.
The results have already been published in the Journal of Affective Disorders and are based on a previously reported multisite randomized trial.
