Brenmiller Energy to Develop Up to Ten Industrial Decarbonization Projects in Italy
BNRG•Brenmiller Energy has signed a framework agreement with INNOVA to pursue up to ten industrial decarbonization projects across eight customer groups in Italy, integrating its thermal energy storage with renewable power, battery storage and public grant support. Initial targets include cement, food processing and pharmaceuticals to electrify heat processes.
1. Cooperation Framework
Brenmiller Energy and INNOVA signed a non-binding framework cooperation agreement to jointly identify, qualify and develop industrial decarbonization opportunities across Italy. The phased structure covers an initial identification stage followed by mutual agreement on definitive terms for project qualification and development.
2. Initial Project Pipeline
The agreement’s initial opportunity pool spans eight industrial customer groups and represents approximately ten site-level projects. These prospects will be evaluated for heat electrification using thermal energy storage integrated with renewable electricity and battery systems.
3. Technology Integration
Brenmiller will integrate its bGen™ thermal energy storage platform with renewable power generation, battery energy storage and flexible energy-as-a-service structures. Public funding and grant support will be leveraged to enhance project economics and accelerate deployment.
4. Strategic Significance
Italy’s strong manufacturing base and sustainability objectives create an attractive market for clean heat solutions. This collaboration supports Brenmiller’s BNRG360 strategy to position thermal energy storage as a core component of integrated industrial energy platforms.
