BridgeBio says real-world EHR study links acoramidis to 18% lower composite risk vs tafamidis in ATTR-CM
BBIO•BridgeBio said a U.S. electronic health records study linked acoramidis to an 18% lower composite risk than Pfizer’s tafamidis, mainly due to fewer hospitalizations. Mortality trended in acoramidis’ favor but was not conclusive.
1. Study findings
BridgeBio reported that an independent U.S. electronic health records analysis linked acoramidis to better overall clinical outcomes than tafamidis, with the difference driven mainly by fewer hospitalizations. Mortality trended in acoramidis’ favor, but the result was not conclusive, reflecting limited follow-up in the early post-launch dataset.
2. Further analysis planned
The study was presented at HFSA ASM 2026 and is under journal peer review. BridgeBio said it plans additional updates as longer-term data accumulate; management described the findings as reinforcing acoramidis’ positioning, including for patients switching therapies.
