BrightNight finalized financing for Frontier, a 120 MW solar PV project in Washington and Marion counties, Kentucky, under a Build Transfer Agreement signed in August 2024. This milestone converts years of development, engineering and commercial structuring into a fully financed asset ready for construction.
A consortium led by ING Capital LLC, Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking and HSBC provided project financing, signaling strong capital market confidence in BrightNight’s development approach. Construction mobilization is underway and commercial operation is slated for fall 2027.
Frontier will add a new source of renewable generation to Louisville Gas and Electric and Kentucky Utilities, supporting PPL’s strategy to expand clean energy capacity. The project reinforces PPL’s commitment to affordable, reliable and sustainable power as part of its long-term infrastructure investment plan.
