Bristol Myers Squibb’s Zola-Cel shows early efficacy in Phase 1 multiple sclerosis trial
BMY•Interim Phase 1 Breakfree-2 results for Bristol Myers Squibb’s investigational multiple sclerosis therapy zola-cel showed potential to control relapses and stabilize disability. All patients receiving the higher dose remained off disease-modifying therapies at last follow-up; one patient died from septic pneumonia after the data cutoff.
1. Interim trial findings
Bristol Myers Squibb presented interim Phase 1 Breakfree-2 results for zola-cel in patients with highly active relapsing or progressive multiple sclerosis. Most adverse events were brief and reversible, and one severe neurological event resolved with treatment; after the data cutoff, one patient died from septic pneumonia following high-dose cyclophosphamide treatment for unresolved motor symptoms.
